About

I’m Blair (they/them). I’m a PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information.

I’m researching the ethics and governance of artificial intelligence.

More specifically, I’m interested in:

  • The social construction of intelligence and artificial intelligence
  • The political economy, ecology, and ethics of AI value chains
  • The design and implementation of AI policies and strategies

My work integrates perspectives from service sciences, cognitive sciences, public policy, information management, and queer studies.

My approach is influenced by my experience working as a queer/trans professional on digital transformation and business development projects in public sector, post-secondary, and startup environments.

I have a dog named Huxley and many nameless houseplants.

Email me for questions and comments, research/work/speaking opportunities, or anything else.
